MJ learns to swim

One of the life skills I wish I had is swimming. Coming from a tropical country where we are literally surrounded by the ocean, it’s quite surprising that most Filipinos can’t swim. And I think this is because not a lot of people have a pool or access to a pool. Also, not everyone can afford swim lessons.

So, one of my goals this year was for my daughter to learn how to swim. Luckily, our city pool partnered with British swim school and offered very affordable swim lessons.

I enrolled her in the Starfish class. There were 4 of them in the class and the instructor had each of the kid swim and then did about 4 rounds. I think it was worth it. One of my friends said she had her kid enrolled and she thought it wasn’t worth it because the kids had to wait for their turn. Anyway,  MJ did well and he teacher moved her up to the next class.

2 days after, we had a scheduled make up class and I thought it was going to be wasted because I missed to move her to the next level class but luckily, no other kids showed up so she had the teacher all to herself tor 30 minutes and they did the next level class, which is Minnows! And he said he could move her up again to the next one after one more Minnow class. Fantastic!!! So proud of my girl.
